D.C. native Schauntice Shepard has a golden gift to touch and warm your heart. As a Soprano of exceptional artistry, she is known for her voice's profound emotional impact with a refreshing sense of wholeness full of spirit and soul. Mrs. Shepard’s international performances span France, England, Germany, the West Indies, and the U.S. She has collaborated with numerous choral groups and opera companies. A featured soloist for Grammy winner Robert Schafer, her versatile command of diverse musical styles and genres has made her a highly sought-after soloist throughout the East Coast, with frequent appearances in D.C., Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, and Connecticut.
With a Bachelor of Music from Shenandoah Conservatory and a Graduate Professional Diploma from the Hartt School of Music (University of Hartford), Schauntice has cultivated a vibrant career as a soloist Soprano at Asylum Hill Congregational Church (Connecticut), and as a fixture at the Berkshire Opera Festival since 2018. 
Beyond her operatic work, Schauntice has been a featured soloist with the Hartford Symphony Orchestra. Her stage presence is undeniable, evident in her portrayals of iconic roles like Susanna from Le Nozze di Figaro, Zerlina in Don Giovanni, Baby Doe in The Ballad of Baby Doe, Yum Yum in The Mikado, and Tituba in the Crucible. Mrs. Shepard works frequently with the Hartford Opera Theater (HOT), Berkshire Opera Festival (BOF), Hartford Symphony Orchestra (HSO), and New Haven Symphony Orchestra, solidifying her presence in the region's musical landscape.
